Voodoo Nights ist das 3. Studioalbum der Sängerin Blue Pearl. Nach Angaben der Plattenfirma verkaufte es sich allein am ersten Tag über 500.000 Mal auf der ganzen Welt. Der Release des Albums wurde vorgezogen, nachdem ein Liveauftritt der Sängerin unerwartet viral ging. Davor gab es Überlegungen, das Projekt zu beenden, da man der Meinung war, es würde nicht funktionieren, das Gesicht der Sängerin überhaupt nicht zu zeigen.
Mittlerweile gilt Voodoo Nights mit mehr als 90 Mio. Verkäufen als das kommerziell erfolgreichste Album der Künstlerin. Es ist das erste Album, das zwei spezifische Titelsong bekam und zu dem nur ein einziges Musikvideo produziert wurde, in das dafür aber mehr Budget investiert wurde.
Kontroversen
Kritiker beschreiben das Album als Niveauabfall gegenüber voriger Veröffentlichungen der Künstlerin. Ein Großteil der Songtexte auf dem Album wurde bewusst zweideutig verfasst, um das bisherige Image als braves Mädchen abzulegen. Auch die Tänze während der Liveauftritte wurden von verschiedenen Kritikern ab diesem Zeitpunkt als zunehmend suggestiv beschrieben.
